Haircare pt. 2

Alright guys....so as far as my actual hair routine, I can't say that I have a certain one I follow every day. Usually i'll just go with whatever style matches the tone of my outfit (if i'm going out) or whatever is quickest (like heading to class).

Here's a quick one that I typically default to:

After getting out of the shower, I'll towel dry my hair to get as much moisture out as possible. Then I blow dry with a paddle brush.

My hair dries PIN STRAIGHT :( so sometimes i'll put some waves into it by making two mini buns on the sides of my head and pinning them until my hair has cooled. Finished product is the final picture.

Typically i'll curl my hair with the flat iron for my "2nd day hair"

Haircare!

Haircare!

So my current haircare regime is pretty simple! Want to get your locks looking as lovely as mine? Here's what I use!

Left to right/Top to bottom

My shampoo/conditioner for the moment is Herbal Essences shine collection brilliance line. These shampoos and conditioners are free of both silicone and sulfates, so they keep my hair looking shiny and smooth as ever! Too much silicone in shampoos can prove to be damaging to hair because it locks out moisture and natural oils that our hair needs to stay healthy. Sulfate free shampoos are good for anyone with color treated hair as sulfates can severely damage it! After washing, I always deep condition my hair with Macadamia deep conditioner. It helps to repair any damage caused by heat and color treatment, and gives my hair a nice sheen.

After a nice towel drying, I spray about 15 pumps of It's a 10 leave in treatment and spritz, as well as some L'Oreal Advanced Haircare color vibrancy dual protect spray, which also helps to maintain my color. Now for a good blow drying!

If i'm using a heat tool on my hair (flat iron, curling iron, etc.) I will also spray the Tresemme heat protectant spray and smoothing serum on at the end.

As far as hair sprays, I tend to not use them because I prefer the look of my curls after they have fallen. However, when I do need them to last I prefer any Tresemme or Dove hairspray--which holds style fairly well and is inexpensive and readily available at most drug and grocery stores!

Next up.....the hair routine!

angie's smokey eye

Hi guys! Welcome to my very own beauty blog. People are always asking me questions regarding my routines....from the products I use to my daily workouts. So I figured why not create a blog where I could teach you guys how to be more like Angie ;)

For my first post, I give you Angie's Smokey Eye!

This is definitely a personal favorite of mine, you can never go wrong with a good smokey eye! This versatile eye complements just about every lip color and gives a dramatic, sexy but simple look for any occasion.

To start, I put Verve by Urban Decay all over my lid, then proceeded to highlight my tear duct and brow bone with Virgin, also by Urban Decay (both of which are in the Naked palettes....a must have!!)

I went into my crease with Buck by UD (I have a monolid, so I had to create a crease), then darkened the outer corner and beneath my eye with Matt Batali matte eyeshadow by the balm cosmetics.

I tight lined and lined my water line with UD's 24/7 eyeliner in Zero

Finally, I created a winged outline with my Dolly Wink liner and finished it off with some mascara and false lashes.

I paired my smokey eye with Vino lip liner and Girl About Town lipstick (my personal favorite!) both by MAC. FYI, I filled my eyebrows with Espresso eyeshadow, also by MAC

I hope you guys enjoy this look and keep reading my blog for more makeup tips and reviews!

xoxo
